The objectives that shaped the design of the U.S. Army Special Forces Association Chapter LX Team House are rooted in both functionality and historical reference. Primary requirements included providing a chapter headquarters, a social gathering place, and storage for organizational property. The facility was also to be viewed as a symbolic gateway to nearby MacDill Air Force Base (home of U.S. Central Command and SOCOM) and secondarily, provide an attractive “off-campus” option for meetings, banquets, receptions, education, and training for MacDill Air Force Base and the Tampa Bay community.
